| GIANT PUPPETS AND PARADE
CREATURES with German Puppeteer and Maskmaker SEBASTIAN ROSER Learn to make simple but impressive rod puppets using the extraordinary papercut or paper sculpture method developed by Professor Albrecht Roser. The technique allows an incredible range of movement and expression, but aims to be lightweight and accessible to those without a degree in engineering! These same paper techniques will also be used in making masks. The study of performance techniques and "Group Puppet Dynamics" will prepare the group for participation in the 2nd Annual Midsummer Parade: A Topsy-Turvy Celebration of the Arts in Amherst. The work is specifically geared for professional puppeteers, actors/theater professionals, visual artists, as well as teachers of all kinds of arts. |
